Clever Clippings Star Wars Art
Showcasing some Star Wars art to celebrate Revenge of the Fifth
On a recent trip, I had the joy of discovering Selena’s Clever Clippings, as she puts it, “Fine art for nerdy souls.”
Each print has a collage on the front and an explanation on the back, and the explanations speak to me. For example, the one for Vader: Let Go (shown, left) begins:
Grief unfolds in layers over time, comes in waves over time, and the essence lies in letting go. This collage captures the journey of dealing with resurfacing sorrow.
Anakin’s first lesson on his path to becoming a Jedi was learning not to mourn his loss of his mother, and this sets him on the path to becoming Darth Vader. His biggest mistake was seeing tragedy as something that could be avoided or fixed, rather than something to be endured or weathered like a storm. How would Anakin’s life have been different if he was given a natural way to express his longing for his mother?
That’s very appropriate for today’s Revenge of the Fifth, and so I wanted to share her work. I also appreciate how she’s grounded in the story, and doesn’t show a slavish devotion to it.
What's more, her work is very reasonably priced. Pray she doesn’t alter the terms of the deals.
