Using LLMs as Friend and Foe in Threat Modeling
Adam will be the featured speaker at the ISC2 Seattle Chapter meeting in February.
For the February ISC2 Seattle Chapter meeting, Adam Shostack will be the featured speaker. He's going to be presenting “The Age of AI: Using LLMs as Friend and Foe in Threat Modeling”.
The age of AI is seemingly upon us—but how do we secure our systems in this new reality? How can we use the apparent magic of large language models (LLMs) to help us threat model? What are the challenges? What actually works—and what doesn’t?
In this timely 2026 talk, Adam will contextualize and model LLMs as both friend and foe, then focus on practical ways to use LLMs to help develop more secure systems.
If you're in the area, this will be a great opportunity to learn from a global leader in threat modeling while exploring real-world security implications of AI and LLMs. These monthly ISC2 meetings are also fantastic for netowrking with fellow cybersecurity professionals in the Seattle area and earning CPEs!
Save the date: Thursday, February 5th, 6pm, at the Mercer Island Community Center (or via Zoom).
Whether you’re a long-time ISC2 member or new to the chapter, all are welcome. Visit the ISC2 Seattle Chapter website for meeting and registration information.
