I am writing to follow-up on a specific statistic referenced in Chapter 4 of THE NEW SCHOOL, “The Rise of the Security Breach”. You claim that “[o]nly between 1% and 2% of total records were lost or stolen as a result of being exposed online” (p. 65) and cite slide 27, June 2007, presented at FIRST conference in Seville, Spain. I am not clear on what data you are basing this assertion and hope that you could provide some clarification. Thank you!
