Snarfer RSS Reader
Some friends have just launched Snarfer, a new Windows RSS reader, designed to be fast, efficient, and easy to use. Check it out!
If you’re not familiar with RSS Really Simple Syndication, it’s a way to bring lots of content, like blogs, into one place. If I didn’t have NetNewsWire (a Mac client) I couldn’t keep up with a third as much data. So even if you’re already using an RSS reader, why not give Snarfer a try?
Hm. I just gave it a try. 2 things against it: 1) it uses IE as an engine. 2) it uses the same 2 plane view everyone else on earth uses which I don’t like. I am fond of Desktop Sidebar’s approach. It gives me headlines organized by site; a mouse over gives me the extended info, and clicking the headline launches a new tab in my browser of choice…
The interface is _exactly_ what I want it to be. The only real issue is that it doesn’t refresh as often as it ought. Also, I’d love to have this program designed on not .net…
I’ll give it a try. However, reader.google.com grabbed my attention and use. The main advantage is that I can use it from wherever I am… home and work machines without needing to (manually) synchronize.
Google Reader (and other such toys) is next in my series of Web2.0 stuff. It is a nice piece of software that works _almost_ 100% for me. The fact that I have to manually look at it (it doesn’t give me a popup notification) kills the program for me—but I do a lot of surfing from home…
I found your site while searching on Yahoo for examples of blogs.
