Yahoo & China

Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang said the company was merely following Chinese law [link to http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050911/ap_on_hi_te/china_yahoo&printer=1;_ylt=Ak1XljO6c0ofjXuhCTsjSmlk24cA;_ylu=X3oDMTA3MXN1bHE0BHNlYwN0bWE- no longer works] – it had no choice. But as human rights groups have been pointing out, Yahoo! has been going above and beyond the strict legal requirements for some time. In 2002 it signed the Internet Society of China’s Public Pledge on Self-Discipline for the Chinese Internet Industry.
