Short Bits on Terrorism
- Thurston points [http://mt.homeport.org/cgi-bin/mt.cgi?__mode=view&blog_id=10&_type=comment&id=4516] to “London blasts – expert comments” at the London School of Economics. I know you all come here for the bombast and snark, so be warned: These are trained professionals. Do not try this on your blog.
- Boyodite William Lind reports on the “Modern Warfare Symposium,” organized by (ret) Colonel Mike Wyly. The Symposium calls for a militia as the right response to terror.
- Daniel Solove discusses threats in “National Security, Terrorism, and the Bird Flu.” His co-blogger, Dan Markel has an interesting response, “All for the birds? Why Solove is Only Mostly Right about Terrorism Threats.” Comments on both are worth reading. I’d love to hear from Dan about the relative threat of death from terror in Iraq. (Not a comment on that war, but an honest request for data.)
- Europhobia nails the latest in the UK ID card scheme. Even auntie Beeb (who have never met a subsidy they didn’t like) titles their article “Labour admits ID card ‘oversell’.”
